The Edible City

3 March till 22 June 2007

In the context of the first Bipolis, a manifestation on creative industry, NAiM/Bureau Europa, Z33 Hasselt and Het Domein Sittard collaboratively organized a project on the theme of food, with the working title ‘Food for Thought/Thoughts on Food’.

The exhibition ‘The Edible City’ consists of a largely edible exhibition on urban agriculture, self-sustaining cities, food miles and closed food chains, and a program of lectures, films and excursions. Starting from the explicit sense that design covers far more than the domain of ‘product design’, but also often includes invisible services, ‘The Edible City’ focuses on the way we have shaped the production, distribution and consumption of food.

Bipolis is an initiative of the Province of Limburg.
