Academia: A dynamic summer programme

Bureau Europa opened its doors in January for various collaborations with local educational institutions. This summer, we’d like to share the results with you.

Our second student exhibition, reflects on the nature of the archive: as work, as a medium, as a method, and as an end goal. Featuring Predrag Končar, Eylem Polat, Luisa Sugaipov, and Clara Sophia Uerlichs of the Maastricht Academy of Fine Arts and Design, Zuyd Hogeschool.

Through four archives, four students, each from different disciplines, tell their stories in the form of projections, sound installations, prints, paintings, and sculptures. They cover graphical translations, a collaboration between AI and art, Chechen mythology, and the poetry of growing up. These graduation works coalesce four unique stories into one experience that reveals the power of memory and the art of preservation.

This exhibition is at the end of the route through the exhibition Jo Coenen, 40 Years of Working in Europe.
