In 2011 Rietveld Landscape took home the Dutch Design Award in the category Spatial design for the best interior: VACANT NL, where architecture meets Ideas.
25% of the buildings in the Netherlands are vacant, while students cannot find accommodation in the cities. Vacant NL tries to change the mindset involving a social problem and to put the issue on the political agenda.
