The Maker is Present
25 May 2022On 24, 25, and 26 June the makers and artists that contributed to the Prepper Paradise exhibition will come and present their works during The Maker is Present at Bureau Europa.
In a divers programme of interviews, guided tours and city walks, you get the unique chance to meeet and greet the many makers of Prepper Paradise. They will tell their own stories about the aesthetics of dystopia and how their works fit in the narrative of the exhibition of guest curator Ward Janssen. Participants will be Stine Deja, Rustan Söderling, Kostis Safylakis and Theo Triantafyllidis, Dennis de Bel, Meeus van Dis and Sam Nemeth.
In Prepper Paradise we explore the imagination of the end times, whether they be caused by geo-political chaos, war or climate change. Through the eyes of designers, artists, scientists, and architects, the luxury, ethics, and DIY-character of the prepper culture become a design fiction debate in which visual utopias for dystopian times are imagined.
The exhibition is on show till 14 August at Bureau Europa.
