Documentary series 'All Watched Over by Machines of Loving Grace'

On Sunday 9 June, Bureau Europa featured all three episodes of the documentary series 'All Watched Over by Machines of Loving Grace' (Adam Curtis, 2011)about self-organizing systems, the politics of the collective and the waiver or disappearance of the individual.

A series of three documentaries about the way man has been colonized by the machines we built ourselves. Curtis shows the rise of self-organizing systems and the relation with our belief in computers. 

These documentaries will be featured both by Stroom Den Haag and Bureau Europa in the framework of a collaboration between Bureau Europa and Stroom in the programme United We

Francien van Westrenen, co-curator of the United We exhibition will introduce the documentary series and explain the connection with the theme of United We, a programme about collective forms of working, thinking, organizing and living.
