De Toonzaal

Maastricht Ceramics Market

28 till 30 November 2025

The annual ceramics market is back! Following successful and well-attended ceramics days in recent years, Bureau Europa and the Earthenware Heritage Foundation Maastricht proudly present De Toonzaal once again. This three-day heritage bazaar will showcase beautiful pieces of authentic Maastricht ceramics and glass. Be sure to check out the tables and cabinets as well, as they’re also for sale!

After successful and well-attended ceramics days, the heritage bazaar returns for its fifth edition, once again offering a unique sale of authentic Maastricht ceramics and glassware.

Bureau Europa presents: De Toonzaal
In the former showroom and director’s office of the Sphinx factories, this special location will come to life for three days. The Bureau Europa building opened in 1911 and served as the main showroom of Sphinx, Maastricht’s most renowned industry, located on the Boschstraat. The original showroom was filled with glass, crystal, and porcelain, all overseen by the statue of the factory's founder, Petrus Regout. Today, it is Bureau Europa’s main exhibition space, where exhibitions on architecture and design are presented.

During De Toonzaal, collectors and enthusiasts will showcase and sell a rich selection of ceramics and glass from factories such as Regout, Sphinx, Société Céramique, JeMa, MOSA, Astra, and Kristalunie. Even the tables and cabinets are for sale.
De Toonzaal is organized in collaboration with the Aardewerk Erfgoed Maastricht Foundation and has been held annually since 2021.

Also enjoy continuous film and photo presentations, including unique footage from the former Regout/Sphinx and Société Céramique factories by Tracé; works by renowned designer Pieter Stockmans; Lab Air and Roel van Tour's clay project for an exhibition at Keramiekmuseum Princessehof; and the life and work of Charles Eyck in Curaçao.
